I thought it would be kind of cool so see how many twitter users could fit into 140 characters. So, obviously I started a RTtrain. For those that don’t know: “RT” stands for re-tweet, the reposting of someone else’s tweet. For those who don’t know what a “train” is, look up Soul Train. Then think of a conga line mixed with a Giant Steam Engine coming around the bend. A RTtrain would not be the same as a Retreat Train, the RTtrain was very forward moving and progressive, the RTtrain should have been big…
My dream looked something like this:
RTtrain@someone@thatguy@littleboyblue@his?!@hers?!@blue32@funtime
@lustmusterd@homeboy7@rightsaidfred@bob@fightmonkey@lasercats@justinjjustin
Here’s how it started:
Let’s start the RT train? The idea is to see how many people we can fit into 140 characters. AND THEN IT’S OVER. I’ll start…
RT@stuckonlou “come on and ride the RT train”
RT@K80Blog “Another RT train is pulling out of the yard…”
Here’s where it went:
Nowhere.
So it’s back to the yard for me. Looks like Thomas is the only train to look at now. Maybe it was a poor explanation on my part. Maybe the idea just isn’t as cool as I thought.(Never) Or maybe (this is it) twitter just isn’t ready for the RTtrain. So, with great sadness, I report the death of the RTtrain. Like the Red Caboose, they are things we can only tell our children about. I’ll be moving on with Cat Stevens’ Peace Train. All Aboard.
Big thanks to K80blog for trying.
