Nice move: The Giants brought out families and colleagues of police officers killed in the line of duty. They had a moment of silence, a helicopter flyover, and a police officer sang the national anthem.
Not-so-nice move: They dressed up mascot Lou Seal in a police uniform and invited him on the field for the ceremony. There’s never a good time for Lou Seal’s asinine clowning, but the tribute to dead policemen is a particularly bad one.
Really-Not-so-nice Move: Someone shot Lou Seal for trying to steal third.
Bizarre-turn-of-events Move: Immediately they brought out Lou’s family to joint the officers. His picture was shown on the big screen, some of his past asinine clowning, while Boyz II Men played “It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday.”
Afterwords, we all felt a little strange about the whole thing. It was like they new it would happen.
